A touchscreen display allows for easy and quick maneuvering through the menu's which is a can be a must at times if you find yourself wanting to change screens without pulling over. The Garmin nüvi 350's color screen has a resolution of 320 X 240. The world travel clock will keep you on top of things when traveling long distances and across time zones. An audiobook player is even included. You can use it by downloading audiobooks from websites such as Audible.com. Or if you'd rather listen to MP3's, that's also an option. The Garmin nüvi 350 has a storage capacity of 700 megabytes. Memory expansion is possible via an SD memory card slot. That storage space can be used to view photo's as well.
The compact Garmin nüvi 350 measures at just under 3 X 4 inches and is 0.87 inches in thickness making it fairly easy to carry or to stow away when leaving your vehicle. Though it may not sound noteworthy, I feel it would be unfair not to mention the Lithium Ion battery as one of the benefits to the 350. So often manufacturers will go with lesser batteries to save money thinking that the consumers won't notice. But battery type is an important enough issue to make or break a sell for this writer personally. Li ion will be the reason that your (up to 8 hours) battery life will remain consistent and reliable over a long period of time. It doesn't give the dreaded "cell memory" effect. In other words, with this battery type you will be able to recharge as often as you'd like without having to make sure the battery is fully drained first and your GPS' battery life will not suffer because of it.
The best thing about this GPS is it's combination of affordability plus its very large array of features as seen above. While not too long ago the Garmin nüvi 350 sold for upwards of $350 it can now easily be found for a hundred dollars less than its original price. Even greater savings are possible if a used unit is considered. A one year warranty is standard. Keep in mind when looking at the Garmin nüvi 350 and it's currently more pleasant price tag that not so long ago this unit was at the top of the market, and when it comes to brand names, it still is. What that adds up to is a top of the line unit for the same price as other not so top-tier products. It's quite a deal.
